UNI THE UNIQUE
A children's picture book for unique kids

One night in the cold Bering Sea, Uni and her Mama went fishing. When a big storm rolls in, they're separated.

Scared—but a clever little walrus—Uni swims to safety on a nearby iceberg where she stays the night. In the morning she's found and fed by a couple of fellow walruses who invite her to join their herd.

Uni soon realizes that even though they're walruses just like she is, she's different than the rest of the herd—and they don't like that very much. Bullied and shunned, Uni's heart breaks a little more with every passing day. Her loneliness is all consuming.

While swimming on her own one sunny day, Uni discovers a baby seal trapped in a sunken ship on the ocean's floor. After freeing him, Uni discovers a colony of misfit sea creatures just like her.

Could it be? Is this her forever home? Will Uni ever find a family to call home?

Written in rhyming verse, UNI THE UNIQUE is an empowering story about the beauty of not fitting in, and how sometimes the very thing that gets you bullied, is what makes you special.
